Barbara has nineteen years of experience in multimedia instructional design, information design and writing, specializing in technical skills training, print and online content development. She has worked extensively on the Hewlett-Packard, Intel, NW Natural and Microsoft accounts, plus many, many others. Client experience includes ATI-Wah Chang, Adobe Systems Inc., Applied Materials, Ford Motor Company, Tektronix, Kaiser Permanante, JELD-WEN, inc., Caterpillar, Inc. and American Honda. Barbara is a tireless promoter of usability research and user-centered design, and has attended workshops on usability and information design with the Nielsen Norma Group and Edward Tufte.

She has won numerous awards for her work and has written articles and spoken about multimedia and online training for American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and other professional groups including SALT, ISPI and WVSTC.
