Position Concept

ISITE Design is seeking a motivated individual to support its growing Technical department. The Web Developer position is responsible for exercising a wide range of disciplines in order to produce standards compliant websites. Knowledge of middleware programming, scripting languages, markup languages, graphic design, and communication skills, are used to assemble websites and operate effectively in a web team environment. Web Developers must follow the design specification laid out by the other branches of the design and production team. This position and all expenses relating to this position are billable to clients or against internal project budgets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent ISITE Design in a professional and ethical manner
  • Possess a strong belief in and display their conviction to customer service and satisfaction for themselves and ISITE Design
  • Construct websites based on provided functional specifications
  • Create production graphics to be used in website development
  • Communicate at different technical and artistic levels
  • Manage development tools and project resources
  • Display the ability to learn
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to partake in Research and Development of new development tools
  • Must work with other team members to develop client oriented solutions in a structured and organized manner
  • Assist the Director of Technology in improving the process of website development and documentation

Qualifications

Experience
  • 2 years in website development
  • 2 years in Internet related industry
  • 3 years in computer related industry
Education and/or Formal Training
  • HS Diploma
  • Trade school or College degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive skills in scripting HTML, JavaScript, DHTML, XHTML and CSS
  • Some programming knowledge of PHP and/or ColdFusion
  • Understand file translation issues
  • Web graphics guidelines
  • Capabilities and limitations of various browsers and user operating systems as it applies to website development
  • Common Internet application development and production software
  • Adherence to standards and conventions
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented mentality
  • Graphic production with a thorough knowledge of the digital graphic production process
  • Knowledge of preparation and optimization techniques of images for delivery over the Internet and other networks
  • Understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality product while balancing the need for rapid delivery
  • Ability to follow directions with a minimum of supervision and to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand and learn new development tools and techniques
  • Web development applications including Dreamweaver, Photoshop. Fireworks
  • Magnolia CMS experience is a plus
  • Java and ASP experience are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • The physical requirements for this position are light to moderate
  • May require some lifting and carrying of materials or equipment
  • Extended hours required at times to meet deadlines
