Position Concept

ISITE Design is seeking an exceptional individual to support its growing Project Management department. The Senior Project Manager / Web Strategist position is responsible for exercising a wide range of disciplines in order to lead the production of website and web application projects. The Project Manager aspect of the role is to develop the scope of work for new projects, establish and maintain project plans (including budget and timeline) and manage the resources to complete all client deliverables. The Web Strategist part of the role is to translate the high level business goals into a project strategy. The Web Strategist serves as the thought leader from our organization for the assigned accounts interacting with the client on a regular basis to continually ensure the web strategy is aligned with the client's business goals. A successful candidate must demonstrate first-hand experience with eMarketing, eBusiness, eCommerce, eLearning and other B2B and B2C solutions.

Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the Senior Project Manager / Web Strategist will lead a team of information architects, graphic artists, media producers, writers, web developers and programmers to design and produce quality websites for our clients. The Senior Project Manager / Web Strategist will also work with outside vendors, contractors, freelancers and third-part service providers as necessary to complete projects. It is the responsibility of the Senior Project Manager / Web Strategist to be proactive in communicating with the team their responsibilities, deadlines for deliverables, and to report progress on projects to the client and ISITE Design management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Represent ISITE Design in a professional and ethical manner, and possess a strong conviction to customer service and satisfaction for themselves and ISITE Design
  • Assist the lead Sales Representative by meeting with clients to determine their online needs as it applies to their business objectives and the wants of the target audience
  • Work with the sales team to architect solutions for client proposals and generate the budget and timeline estimates
  • Facilitate discussions with key staff to take clients' visions for their online initiatives and scope appropriate solutions that best fit their needs given any project constraints including time, budget and quality
  • Once the project is signed, act as the lead resource from ISITE Design taking charge of gathering business, content and functional requirements, defining the project solution and guiding the solution design
  • Develop timelines and budgets for each part of a project and validate each resource's ability and availability with the Director of Client Services
  • Maintain project plans throughout the project lifecycle specifying phases, activities, deliverables, resource staffing, including outside contractors and other project expenses
  • Assign team members with their list of tasks and due dates and send any updates to the project plan to all team members
  • Schedule regular internal project meetings where key activities are discussed, deliverables are reviewed and issues are resolved
  • Facilitate client meetings by sending out agendas and soliciting input from other team members prior to the meeting itself; encourage team members to actively participate in discussions with clients
  • Create the project requirements and scope of work documents as needed for each project
  • Proactively manage the day-to-day activities of projects by reviewing team member tasks and deliverables as well as communicating responsibilities and deadlines
  • Regularly review and update resource allocation based on project activities and deliverables, generate new resource requests based on new projects, and negotiate time-sharing between other Project Managers for resources
  • Report the status of projects to clients and ISITE Design management on a regular basis
  • Maintain accurate and timely Budget vs. Actuals reports on time usage and material expenditures for each project
  • Escalate and inform any budget, timeline, deliverable, quality or personnel issues to the Director of Client Services as soon as an issue is known
  • Contribute and participate in all company meetings and work relations with a strong team spirit and respect for coworkers
  • Stay current on Web and Internet technologies as they apply to the ongoing needs of our customers and the solutions that ISITE Design offers
  • Possess strong customer service skills and adapt to the fluctuating needs of various projects
  • Be viewed as a positive influence and mentor junior members of the ISITE Design team while displaying the ability to learn new concepts
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Client Services

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to coordinate and participate in Research and Development of new development tools and third party solutions needed by our clients
  • Must work with other team members to develop client oriented solutions in a structured and organized manner
  • Assist the Director of Client Services in improving the process of website development and documentation

Supervisory Duties

  • While the Senior Project Manager / Web Strategist has no direct reports, he/she directs the efforts of the team for each project. Leadership skills are critical in motivating and facilitating teamwork.

Qualifications

Experience
  • 5-10 years as a Project Manager developing websites or other online applications
  • 5 years in the Internet or computer related industry leading the solution design for clients while managing multiple projects
Education and/or Formal Training
  • Four-year College degree (BS/BA)
  • MBA Preferred
  • Degree desired within a related field such as computer software engineering, multimedia development, business management, interactive marketing or communications
  • Additional accreditation desired (e.g. PMI certification, etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Capabilities and limitations of various browsers and user operating systems as it applies to website development
  • Knowledge of common Internet application development and production software as well as development standards and conventions
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented mentality
  • Understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality product while balancing the need for rapid delivery
  • Ability to learn and understand the strengths and weaknesses of new development tools, techniques and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially MS Project

  • Strong PC skills (MS Windows)
