Pop Quiz: Where in the world was this photo taken?
The above famous landmark is in what world capital city? First one to e-mail correctly wins a spiffy world atlas.
Hint: In keeping with our full moon theme, the name of the city originally meant “City of the Moon.” Yes, we know your next stop is Google. Have at it.
The February Trivia Fiasco
Readers who saw the February trivia question may still be scratching their head as to what US President had a pet hummingbird. Well, you'll be scratching for awhile because our research team screwed up big on this one.
You see, it turns out that in our attempt to find clever and different questions, we made a fatal error. The pet in question was a mockingbird, not a hummingbird. And the President in question was Thomas Jefferson. What's worse, it's apparently common knowledge that Jefferson had a mockingbird (named Dick). Common to everyone but us that is.
The plot thickens with embarrassment because our source for this “great” question was the Yankee Candle Flagship Store and winter wonderland extravaganza in South Deerfield, Massachusetts. In addition to being dubbed the “Scenter of the Universe,” and having a room where it snows every four minutes, they have trivia tidbits scattered through the mammoth complex. Always on the hunt for Insight tidbits, we made a mental note (unfortunately, the wrong note) and used it in our Feb edition.
We realize this is a crushing blow to the credibility of ISITE Insight's editorial standards and we will work tirelessly to regain your trust in the coming full moons. As a show of good faith, we are going to be awarding Mark Vanderbeek the prize this month for being the first one with a guess of any sort.
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support in these difficult times.
Sincerely,
The ISITE Insight Editorial Team
(You didn't think anyone individually would own up to actually visiting the Yankee Candle store did you?)
