Shine, Baby, Shine!

With a devilish laugh, Larry Hagman, a.k.a. TV's Texas oilman J.R. Ewing, extols solar energy in SolarWorld's new "Shine, Baby, Shine!" campaign. (Gotta love the irony: He owns the largest solar-powered home in the US.) The TV/print/web campaign follows ISITE's redesign and CMS implementation for SolarWorld-USA.com. Check out Hagman shining the light on solar.

Simplicity in Design

Concepts often surface that make us say, "Dang, why didn't we think of that?" Case in point: the Portland Ad Fed's Roseys2010.com. The site, an interim solution to promote a Fall event, requires user interaction, offers a familiar interface (The Wall), and provides an "anything can happen" feel that promotes sharing. We see an unanticipated benefit: user feedback (albeit controversial) that can be leveraged as the PAF plans the event. Props to our friends at North for putting it together.

Inside the Numbers

Nebraska Cornhuskers

When the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers play football at home, Memorial Stadium becomes the state's third largest city. Compare this to the population of Nebraska's other two big cities.

Pop Quiz

Central University?

This prestigious school was originally known by a generic name until a wealthy benefactor from the east came along to lend his name and money (but never his presence) to it. First one to e-mail the correct answer wins something barely worth the effort.

June Winner

The dot bomb's logo teased in our June trivia was Kozmo.com (business model: deliver anything in an hour, no delivery fee). Judah Phillips was quickest on the draw (again) but props to Sean Dreilinger, who emailed moments later.
