Tufts University is inviting all young alumni to light up a virtual hill with 1,000 candles by this year’s graduation ceremony on May 22. ISITE Design teamed up with its Boston EDU neighbor to build a nifty Facebook Connect experience. The site helps fellow Jumbos relive priceless moments like late night Dunkin’ Donut runs and mud wrestling at Spring Fling.

British amateur scientist Robert Harrison proved you don’t need a big budget to get some out-of-this-world photos. His weather balloon traveled 21 miles above the Earth’s surface and snapped some breathtaking photos along the way. He posted the photos online and got calls from BBC News and NASA in the process. Sure puts our Flickr gallery to shame.
