Reinventing Wendy’s corporate brand
With more than 6,500 locations in the U.S. and abroad, Wendy’s needs no introduction as a restaurant known for its high quality food and memorable advertisements. ISITE Design teamed up with Wendy’s to launch www.aboutwendys.com – the company’s new corporate site for investors, media, potential franchisees, and customers wanting to know more about the brand.
The new site was successfully planned, designed and built in less than 10 weeks to meet a business-critical deadline and introduce the new parent company – The Wendy’s Company – to the world.
Building a new publishing platform
The new corporate site was part of a larger strategy to re-platform Wendy’s family of sites on the Ektron content management system. ISITE Design led the technical architecture of the corporate site, which was the first public site to launch on Wendy’s new platform. This CMS enables the Wendy’s communications team to create more engaging content for its many stakeholders and respond to the many time-sensitive demands of being a publically traded company.
Better storytelling with video
The Brightcove video platform was integrated with the site to better engage visitors and tell the Wendy’s story. The video strategy included engaging food stories, as well as showcasing positive community involvement activities. Wendy’s plans to continue expanding the video content to create more compelling, unique experiences that better connect with site visitors.
A focus on sustainability
The new user experience focused on conveying the organization’s core values, which includes a commitment to corporate responsibility and giving back. A revamped content strategy focused on promoting health & nutrition, community involvement and environmental sustainability as a core part of the Wendy’s digital experience.
Results
The launch was considered a tremendous success by the Wendy’s team. Not only did it meet the tight timeline, but traffic to the site has more than doubled, with visitors spending more time interacting with the content and video specifically. Backed by a new CMS and video platform, the Wendy’s team is planning new content and future projects to continue driving value to all stakeholders.
